McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II

McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II 97208 RAAF Museum Point Cook Walkaround Gallery

In the new Strike hangar at Pt Cook they have a Canberra, an F-111 and this Phantom II. This is not one of the Phantoms the RAAF flew, even though it is painted as one . It is an A-4E, but it is a later version than ours. The most significant difference is that this airframe is equipped with leading edge slats. The RAAF machines didn't have these. This aircraft was gifted to the museum by the US.
