F-4E Phantom II Walkaround

McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II Walkaround Gallery

This is a walkaround of the Phantom II that is on display at the RAAF Museum, Point Cook. While it is painted to represent one of the Phantoms that served with the RAAF, it is in fact an ex-USAF machine that was donated for display. It differs from the airframes the RAAF flew in that this one has leading-edge slats. Ther RAAF F-4Es were a different variant and had fixed leading edges. You gat an idea of the size of these beasts when you see it next to an F-111 and realise there is not that much difference in size!
